Why it matters.
Cornerstone is owned and operated by Methodist Retirement Communities (MRC), which serves about 2,000 residents in 13 senior living retirement communities in Texas, including College Station, Bryan, Huntsville, La Porte, League City, Lufkin, Corpus Christi, and Fort Worth in addition to Texarkana, TX, with a central office in The Woodlands. Since 1962, MRC has provided faith-based, mission-driven housing and services to senior adults. We’re honored to serve seniors regardless of nationality, race, gender, disability or religion – that is, you needn’t be United Methodist or Christian or religious at all to be warmly welcomed here.
Our Mission.
We honor and serve older adults as an expression of Christ’s love.
The non-profit Difference.
Cornerstone is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, which means all leftover margin is reinvested in property improvements, and rate increases are kept to a minimum. There’s a higher level of accountability with our nonprofit status, and consequently a higher standard for the services, programming, activities, housing and care we provide our residents. We’re committed to maintaining Cornerstone as the best senior living community in Ark-La-Tex. That’s a pretty big commitment, because as a CCRC (continuing care retirement community), we offer robustly rewarding Independent Living, plus a big continuum of care that includes Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, Memory Support, Rehabilitation, Respite and Home Health.
Serving Texarkana for over 25 years.
In 1996, MRC opened Cornerstone, its first CCRC, with the full continuum of services we offer today. Cornerstone offers a worry-free, independent lifestyle for active retired adults, all in a faith-based environment.
Come see just one breathtaking sunrise through the pines, and you’ll understand why so many have picked Cornerstone from all the other choices of senior living communities.
